An efficient process

Resolve conflicts as they arise, rather than waiting for expensive, time-consuming, therapy or traditional mediation.

What to expect

A Mendful conflict resolution session slows down the ways we typically talk in conflict to quickly surface the “heart” of the matter. We translate stories, judgments, evaluations, positions, and so on into the feelings, needs, desires, and values underneath.

Once both parties can hear and understand what’s underneath the conflict, it typically unravels easily and gives way to a resolution that both people can live with.

This widely-tested and used approach differs from much of what’s offered in typical mediation or therapy, so the process might feel unfamiliar. For example, we might interrupt you to capture the essence of something important you’ve said.

We warmly invite you to try this unusual process and let us know how it goes. We always welcome your feedback.

Mendful doesn’t measure success by wins and losses.  Rather, we facilitate a path forward that both people can at least willingly agree to, if not embrace wholeheartedly.  We aim for both people feeling:

  • More connected, trusting, and relaxed than when they began, because they see that their needs matter.

  • Increasingly confident that they can resolve the conflict they have with the other person.

  • Willing to adopt a  truly collaborative decision  rather than  resigned to a suboptimal “compromise.”

TESTIMONIALS

“Jill provided a safe, caring space for me and my partner to express our unmet needs.  I believe we made significant progress in our relationship based on that session with Jill.”

Lindy Sinclair, financial coach, www.emotionsandmoney.com

“Thank you so much for your skillful facilitation of such a dicey topic for my mother and me.  It’s making my life less stressful, which helps my health.  It’s so incredibly rewarding to be actually making progress on what seems a hopelessly impossible situation and topic for the two of us.”
